Boracay selected as Asia's top beach, sixth best worldwide! :)

The island of Boracay is the top beach in Asia and the sixth best beach destination in the world, according to a list published by popular travel website Tripadvisor.com.
Known for its powdery white sands and crystal blue waters, the 4.5-mile long island topped the lineup for Asia, ahead of eight beaches from Thailand as well as one beach each from India and Indonesia.
In the worldwide list, Boracay ranked higher than several known beach destinations in Mexico (including Cancun), Rio de Janeiro, Miami, and Hawaii.
Tripadvisor said it highly recommends the beaches of Yapak, White Beach and Balinghai in Boracay to weary travellers.
"As long as you visit during dry season, you'll agree this is one of the best beach destinations in the world," read Tripadvisor's review. The winners were based on the most highly-rated by travelers' reviews in their website.
"Travelers seeking a brief beach respite from the cold or planning their grand summer getaways will quickly warm up to the thought of trips to these award-winning beach destinations, as identified by TripAdvisor's community of millions of travelers," said Barbara Messing, chief marketing officer for TripAdvisor.
Tripadvisor is the largest travel website in the world and being included in any of their list is a priced asset for global referrals.
Last year, Boracay was also selected in a list of best beach destinations by the lifestyle blog section of CNN.com.
Puka Beach, the second-longest beach on the resort island - also its second most known after the more developed and more popular White Beach - is "relatively empty most times, with no resorts on the sand and a limited number of restaurants," CNN noted on its travel site, CNNGO.
It also placed fourth in a vote for the world's best islands by the US-based Travel and Leisure Magazine.
The Philippine Department of Tourism's "It's More Fun In the Philippines" campaign is set to also capitalize on Boracay's wonders to make it at par with the best beaches in the world.

What makes Boracay island one particular of the best island holiday getaway is definitely the selection of leisure actions situated on or around Boracay. These include, diving, snorkeling, windsurfing, kite boarding, cliff diving and previous but not the extremely the very least kicking back on the seashore front.
