Another Koreanovela that I love and I'm sure you will also fall in love with this series. I know some of you are already hooked in this series.
The Story:
Lee Shin is a university student majoring in modern music. He is also the vocalist and guitarist of the band “The Stupid.” Shin is known for his good looks and strong passion for music, but in reality he is cold, lacks interest in anything unrelated to music and has neither dreams nor plans for the future. He initially likes Jung Yoon Soo, a dance professor at university, but this all changes when he meets Lee Kyu Won.
Lee KyuWon is a bright and outgoing student who was born into a prestigious family and is majoring in traditional Korean instruments, especially the gayageum. Kyu Won’s grandfather, Lee Dong Gun, is one of the top 3 traditional musicians of his age and his biggest wish is to see his granddaughter become a traditional music prodigy. Trying to live up to her grandfather’s expectations, Kyu Won immerses herself in training and becomes a university student who knows nothing outside of her studies. As her friends are fans of “The Stupid,” she was forced to go to the band’s concert with them. There she saw Lee Shin performing live, and is immediately captivated by him.
Main Cast:
Jung Yonghwa as Lee Shin:
Jung Yonghwa made his drama debut through last year’s You’re Beautiful. However, he is also a singer- in fact, he’s the lead singer (not to mention leader) of CN Blue. (The group is in FNC Music, the same company as FT Island. Thus, there are many similarities between the two.)
Contrary to his character in You’re Beautiful, Jung Yonghwa plays Lee Shin, a cold, indifferent guy who only seems to care about himself and his music. He’s the lead singer of “The Stupid,” a popular band a school, and he’s always got a swarm of girls all over him. But he doesn’t care about them- the one female he actually cares about is Jung Yoonsoo, a dance instructor at the college he attends.
Park Shinhye as Lee Kyuwon:
I’ve seen Park Shinhye in Goong S and You’re Beautiful. For some strange reason, she reminds me a lot of Yoon Eunhye. Don’t ask me why, she just does.
Lee Kyuwon is a feisty individual who takes pride in her skill- traditional instruments. She was raised by her grandfather all her life to play a traditional instrument, and although she enjoys it, she wishes that she wasn’t so restricted.
Song Changui as Kim Sukhyun:
Although I’ve never personally seen him in a drama, Song Changui is not new to the acting scene. His more recent dramas are Life is Beautiful and Cinderella Man.
Kim Sukhyun returns from the United States as a famous Broadway director. His new project is the school play at the college that Lee Shin and Lee Kyuwon attend. At the school, he meets his ex-girlfriend Jung Yoonsoo but is more interested when he sees Lee Kyuwon, who he later tries to scout for the play.
So Yihyun as Jung Yoonsoo:
So Yihyun has acted in a number of dramas, all of which I have never seen, although I have heard of some, like Swallow the Sun and Gloria.
Jung Yoonsoo is a dance professor. Six years ago, she was in a relationship with Kim Sukhyun, but left him to pursue her dreams of becoming a famous dancer. However, she got into an accident and as a result, couldn’t reach her goal, so she returned to the school as an instructor.
Director + Producer:
Director Pyo Minsoo has directed Full House, The World They Live In, and Coffee House.
Producers Lee Jinsuk and Kim Yang both have a list of dramas under their production- Lee Jinsuk has produced My Love Patzzi and Love Story in Harvard. Kim Yang has produced What Happened in Bali and Lovers in Paris.
