JULIA BARRETTO SHARES A TOUCHING FAMILY STORY IN "MMK"

Thursday, June 13, 2013

I've been wanting to meet this fine lady for quite some time now because I've heard so many
good things about her and coming from the famous Barrretto clan, she must really have
that acting prowess in her. :-)

She is very humble, candid and nice person. She voice out her opinions well and she is very spkntaneos when she answers our question since we were invited for the said BlogCon.

According to Julia, it is a dream come true for her to be able to do an episode for the longest-running drama anthology on television, "Maalaala Mo Kaya." She said that there is pressure because this is it, being on MMK is not that easy to achieve. All eyes on her on that day! She  believes it is a huge responsibility for her to star in an MMK episode, and she hopes her training as an actress is enough to give justice to her role.

This Saturday (June 15), Julia will finally make her debut on MMK.

When the role was offered to her, Barretto didn't think twice about accepting it.
She has always wanted to be part of MMK.

“I immediately said yes because I have always wanted to do episode for the show. But at the same time, I am really nervous because it is a huge responsibility and honor for me to be entrusted with an ‘MMK’ story."

But despite of her nervousness and anxiety about the episode, Julia said she wants to prove to the public that she can do a dramatic and serious role especially for MMK.

“I am very nervous because I might not meet the expectations of other people and I am afraid that I might disappoint them. Sometimes I try not to think about it because I just want to focus on how to improve my acting skills and show everybody that I can do this."

The rising Kapamilya teen star will give life to the character of Alex, a young teenage girl who grew up in a complete and happy family. Her life reaches a turning point when her mother leaves them for another man because of her father's drug addiction.

Before her family gets even more broken, Alex eventually decides to forgive her father. She works hard to prove to her mother that their family will still be happy without her. Will Alex find it in her heart to forgive her mother for abandoning them?

Together with Julia in this episode are Ara Mina, James Blanco, Jacob Dionisio, Tommy Abuel, Manuel Chua, Kristoff Meneses, Marikit Morales, and Yda Yaneza. This episode was researched by Akeep Jordan del Rosario, written by Mark Angos, and directed by Dado Lumibao. Don't miss Julia's first-ever "MMK" episode this Saturday after "Wansapanataym" on ABS-CBN.
