Internationally-acclaimed action-thriller "OTJ" NOW SHOWING!

Wednesday, August 28, 2013

The highly anticipated nationwide release of Star Cinema and Reality Entertainment's internationally-acclaimed action-thriller "OTJ" (On The Job) is finally set on August 28 (Wednesday). The film stars two of the most brilliant actors of their generation namely, Piolo Pascual and Gerald Anderson and 2013 Puchon International Fantastic (PiFan) Film Festival best actor Joel Torre.

Under the direction of award-winning filmmaker Erik Matti, "OTJ" is a momentous part of the 20th anniversary of Star Cinema as it marks the return of the country's no. 1 film studio to the action genre. It can be remembered that Star Cinema's first ever movie release in 1993 was the action movie "Adan Ronquillo" that starred now senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla.
Piolo, Gerald and Joel are all honored to take part in Star Cinema's grand celebration through their film "OTJ."

"It's an honor for us to be part of a film that's paying tribute to the action genre na medyo hindi na natin ginagawa. Ito yung unang unang genre na pinasok ng Star Cinema 20 years ago," said Piolo, who will portray the role of Atty. Francis Cornel, an NBI agent who is in hot pursuit of criminals on-the-job.

"Personally, in my 15 years in the industry and after more or less 20 films i've done with Star Cinema, nakakatuwa na nabigyan ako ng chance na makagawa ako ng isang action film. I'm so happy because it's another side of me na pwede kong ipakita sa mga manonood," shared Piolo about their world-class movie that was not only awarded in the PiFan Film Festival in South Korea, but was featured in the prestigious Cannes International Film Festival in France, which was held on May this year.

Similar to Piolo, "OTJ" is Gerald's first action film. "Sa TV, oo, nakakagawa kami ng fighting scenes, pero sa "OTJ" ko naranasan 'yung isang buong araw na shoot para lang sa chase scene namin sa MRT, sa city hall, at kung saan-saan," said Gerald who plays the character of Daniel, a young man being trained by his elder friend Tatang (Joel). "Feeling ko talaga nasa Hollywood kami kasi sobrang hirap kunan ang mga eksena namin. Kakaibang 'kilig' 'yung epekto nung trabahong 'to kasi alam kong hindi araw-araw or every project, pwede ko 'tong gawin."

The controversial chase scene of "OTJ" is exactly what Joel wants every Filipino moviegoers to witness. "This is a crime story that has a lot of action sequences. Kung mapanood n'yo ang pelikula, maipagmamalaki kong yo'ull witness the best chase scene ever. It could even be the best chase scene ever in Philippine cinema," said Joel, who is vocal about his gratitude for the significant role given to him. "At my age, akala ko relegated na lang ako sa tatay roles, na you get to shoot in five days and that's it. But Tatang is a role of a lifetime for an actor. So I'm very grateful to be part of OTJ."

The men of "OTJ" are all excited to share their film which already has its world premiere abroad. "You should watch 'OTJ' in theaters kasi hindi mabibigyang hustisya sa TV 'yung buong experience nang kung papaano kakaibang kinunan 'yung mga eksena ng traffic, commotion, banggaan, at iba pa," Piolo explained. "With the whole story na napaka-original, a lot of foreign producers want to do a remake of 'OTJ.' But Filipinos deserve to watch it first. It's definitely a beautiful film."

Also part of "OTJ" are Joey Marquez, Angel Aquino, Shaina Magdayao, Empress, Dawn Jimenez, Leo Martinez, Vivian Velez and RayverCruz.
Don't miss the internationally-acclaimed action-thriller na "OTJ," showing on cinemas nationwide on August 28, 2013.
