Rachelle Ann Go Cast as Gigi In 'Miss Saigon' West End Revival

Rachelle Ann Go is set to star in the upcoming West End revival of the acclaimed musical play, "Miss Saigon."


It was confirmed that Go will be playing the role of the hardened Vietnamese bar girl Gigi, who was originally portrayed by Isay Alvarez. Go received a tweet from Alvarez earlier today, congratulating her of being cast in "Miss Saigon."

"Hey rachelle!! Congratulations!! I'm pretty sure you will have a great time there. It'll be an experience of a lifetime!!!Gbu," Alvarez tweeted.

"Hello po Ms. GIGI!!! Thank youuuuu.. Sana po kayanin ko mag 2pc! kelangan po ata ng abs eh haha!! God bless you too!:)," Go responded.

In the musical, Go will get to sing "Movie In My Mind," one of the show’s most outstanding songs.

Playing the lead role of Kim in the revival will be 17-year-old Filipino-American Eva Noblezada. Other cast include Filipino stage actor Jon Jon Briones as Engineer, Alistair Brammer (who played the role Jean Prouvaire as Chris in 2012 "Les Miserables" movie), Hugh Maynard as John,  and Tamsin Carroll as Ellen.

Produced by Cameron Mackintosh, the "Miss Saigon" West End revival will open at the Prince Edward Theatre in London on May 3, 2014.
