GMA 7 will air a new afternoon soap after Villa Quintana ended last Friday June6.
Taking the slot will be "The Half Sisters" starring Barbie Forteza and Thea Tolentino.

Bloggers were privileged tohave an intimate talk with the stars of the upcoming teleserye last May 30 at Kimono Ken Tomas Morato. Present during the BlogCon were Andre Paras, Derrick Monasterio and Thea Tolentino.

“The Half Sisters” explores the phenomenon about hetero-paternal superfecundation wherein there is a successive fertilization of two or more ova from the same ovulation by different sires. This is made possible by separate successive acts of sexual intercourse resulting to one woman bearing “twins” with different fathers.

This controversial soap opera stars teen actresses Barbie Forteza as Diana, a loving girl despite the unequal treatment she receives from the father she grew up with; and Thea Tolentino as Ashley, the spoiled twin who agrees with the plan her father set up.

Thea Tolentino who recently played a bida role in "Pyra" now plays a kontrabida role in
"The Half Sisters" We asked her of it's okay with her to suddenly play a kontrabida role after playing a big role recently and she answered humbly, “Okay lang po sa akin kasi tinanong din nila ako dati kung willing ba kong magkontrabida.Willing naman ako, kasi mas marami akong matututunan.Bihira rin namang mangyari yung bida-kontrabida. Kapag kontrabida ka, nalalaro mo ang character mo. Puwede kang magbait-baitan, 'tapos yun, nagagawa mo yung iba ibang character. Para sa akin, yung ugali ng kontrabida, mas malapit siya sa totoong ugali ng tao."

We also asked her how was it playing opposite Barbie and she will be playing the mean girl towards Barbie and she said, "Okay naman po katrabaho si Barbie, mabait sya sa akin, matagal na din kasi sya sa showbiz kaya humihingi din ako ng advice sa kanya. Sinasabi nya sa akin ok lang yan itodo mo galit mo sa akin pag eksena na, which is ok naman po kasi nakakatulong po yung para sa role ko."

Andre Paras will be playing the love interest of Thea Tolentino although both Andre and Derrick likes Barbie Forteza in the said teleserye. How was it working with Andre?
"Sobrang saya kasama, nakakatuwa po sya, sobrang light lang ang mood pag andyan sya, actually before po magkakasama lang kami sa isang tent pag taping pero napansin ng staff na ang ingay ingay namin so, pinag hiwalay na tent ng boys and girls"

Thea Tolentino won in the artista search Protege and since she has come a long way, even partnered in a love team with Jeric Gonzales before. We asked her who is her crush in showbiz and she answered "Richard Gutierrez"

According to Thea, she wants to portray different roles in the future and wanted to stay in the industry for a long time which is why she feels blessed to be working with veteran actors in the said teleserye.

Derrick Monasterio look more mature with his mustache and goatee look at the BlogCon but nevertheless adds up to his appeal. He is indeed a good actor and has played different characters whether drama or comedy. He is also part of comedy show Vampire ang Daddy Ko with Vic Sotto. According to Derrick, "Panahon na para mag-step up para mas mature na din ang roles na makuha natin". Derrick is now 18 years old and wanted to give his acting career a level up. He said he is ready to accept more mature roles but it also depends on the story.

He will be playing the role of Baste, a hardworking student who will fall for Barbie's character and will also form a love triangle with Andre Paras.

When asked how was the experience of working again with Barbie, he said, "Masaya. Magaling na artista si Barbie and napaka professional nya kaya bilib ako sa kanya pagdating sa pag arte."  and to Thea, "Ayos po sya kasama sa trabaho, magaan lang, mas masarap po kasi mag trabaho kapag close na kayo ng mga kasama mo sa teleserye."

Andre Paras who came from a wonderful success with their movie Diary ng Panget
is also excited to this teleserye because it is his first time to star in it. It seems that Andre plays really good when it comes to Rom-Com roles and with this teleserye, it will be a light to heavy drama one but also with a twist of light comedy as well.
Andre will play the role of Bradley,  a rich athlete in the campus. Accoridng to Andre, doing a drama this time is quite a challenge because he is used to making people smile, having a Dad who is expert when it comes to comedy (Benjie Paras) he wants to try being a versatile actor.
Aside from being busy with his acting stints, Andre is also busy being an athlete, playing basketball for UP Maroons, he is also part of the Master Game Match with Chris Tiu and March Pingris.

The series also has seasoned actress Jean Garcia as Rina Mercado-Alcantara, the mother of Diana and Ashley; Jomari Yllana as Benjie Valdicañas, the ex-boyfriend of Rina and the biological father of Diana; and Ryan Eigenmann as Alfred Alcantara, the ambitious and hardworking biological father of Ashley and the husband of Rina.

Completing the cast are JC Tiuseco, Carlo Gonzalez, Mel Martinez, Pinky Marquez and Carmen Soriano as Lupita Valdicañas, the grandmother of Benjie.

Created by the GMA Drama Group, The Half-Sisters has for its creative team creative director Jun Lana; creative head Roy Iglesias; creative consultant Richard Cruz; head writer Luningning Interino-Ribay; writers Christine Badillo-Novicio, Gilda Olvidado-Marcelino and Jonathan Cruz; and brain-stormers Jake Somero and Wiro Michael Ladera.
