iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus: The Eighth Generation of iPhone Finally Unveiled

Apple has finally unveiled its much awaited iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus.
Of course, people got really excited about its specs and the big difference of this long-awaited gadget over the other. This is yet another milestone to Apple simply because every time they unveiled a gadget, it is without a doubt worth the wait.

iPhone 6 is available in silver gold and space grey
iPhone 6 isn’t simply bigger — it’s better in every way. Larger, yet dramatically thinner. More powerful, but remarkably power efficient. With a smooth metal surface that seamlessly meets the new Retina HD display. It’s one continuous form where hardware and software function in perfect unison, creating a new generation of iPhone that’s better by any measure.
This is how Apple described iPhone 6 and although we have yet proven if it is true since I am using iPhone 5s right now on which I am contented but we all know the competition has never been tougher for a new iPhone, with the HTC One M8, Samsung Galaxy S5, LG G3 and Sony Xperia Z3 surpassing the iPhone 5S in terms of size, specs, power and performance.

Apple needs to pull something very special out of the bag to keep itself relevant, so what does the iPhone 6 bring?

iPhone at its largest. And thinnest.

Developing an iPhone with a larger, more advanced display meant pushing the edge of design. From the seamless transition of glass and metal to the streamlined profile, every detail was carefully considered to enhance your experience. So while its display is larger, iPhone 6 feels just right. iPhone 6 has 6.9mm while iPhone 6 plus has 7.1mm.

iPhone 6 display
The iPhone 6 has a 4.7-inch LED back-lit display with a 1334 x 750 resolution - it's Apple's new "Retina HD" offering. That means you get a pixel density of 326ppi - the same as the iPhone 5S. It also pales in comparison to the iPhone 6 Plus, with a full HD, 1920 x 1080 5.5-inch screen with a 401ppi display. It’s one thing to make a bigger display. It’s something else entirely to make a bigger Multi‑Touch display with brilliant colors and higher contrast at even wider viewing angles. But that’s exactly what we did with the new Retina HD display.

I am excited about the camera though, I just love iPhone's camera though
Apple has stuck with the 8MP rear camera on the iPhone 6, but it's not the same as the one you'll find on the iPhone 5S. A new wide angle iSight lens, true tone flash, f/2.2 aperture, greater noise reduction and a 2 x faster autofocus provide even better images.
There's also a new Apple-design image signal processor built into the A8 chip to improve the way the iPhone 6 handles images.

The thing is, the rear camera can shoot 1080p video (sorry 4K fans), and the Slo-mo video mode has been boosted to give you the option to record in either 120 fps or 240 fps.
The front facing FaceTime camera has also been given some love. It's actually a FaceTime HD camera now, with a f/2.2 aperture, and a new sensor which allows in up to 81% more light. There's also HDR FaceTime video support, ensuring you're perfectly lit.
How cool is that?:)

iOS 8 is the world’s most advanced mobile operating system. And with incredible new capabilities and features designed to make the most of a larger display, iOS 8 doesn’t just work seamlessly with iPhone 6. It makes every experience feel bigger and better.

The Price
In an unexpected move, Apple has made the iPhone 6 cheaper at launch than last year's iPhone 5S, with the 16GB model priced at £539 SIM free, compared to £549.

The firm has also ditched the 32GB model, making room for a spacious 128GB iPhone 6, which will be sold alongside the 16GB and 64GB variants. The 64GB iPhone 6 will cost £619 (compared to the 32GB iPhone 5S' £629 launch price), and the 128GB model 128GB.
Contract pricing has yet to be announced, but UK operators have been quick to announce that they'll be selling the smartphone.

Apple announced that it will offer the iPhone 6, with pre-orders to commence at 8am on 12 September.

The good news is you won't have to wait long, with the iPhone 6 release date set for September 19. (That's a Friday).

So, what do you think guys? are you excited with iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus?
