Slammin' Mini Burgers + Fries + Dips: Every bite is Slammin’

Sunday, November 02, 2014

I love burgers and when it comes to eating burgers, it should always be paired with fries, that tandem never goes wrong and it is best shared with friends!

I've discovered the latest craze in town which is the Slammin' Mini Burgers +  Fries + Dips!
Slammin' Burgers is not actually a new establishment, in fact they've started way back in 2008.

“The idea to open up a mini burger shop started in 2008 after watching the movie Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle,” Patrick Dy, Slammin’s president, explains. The absolute satisfaction and bliss on the actors’ faces when they finally reached the famous fast food joint and got to pig out on mini burgers made him wish something similar was available locally. Fast forward to 2013, when Dy and his partners decided to take their existing brand, Slammer Burgers, in a new direction. “We changed our whole culture, look and logo. Totally revamped and upgraded our menu. The main reason for the change is for Slammin’ to eventually become the number one mini burger concept in Asia.”

Thank goodness, I can finally try out their famous mini burgers and other satisfying food in their menu! When I visited their Trinoma branch, it was a Friday and there was a long line, I was actually the 5th one on the line and there were others after me.

So, I ordered the Slammin' Trio Php 225.00 which consisted of the American slider, Bacon n' mushroom and Slammin' cheese. I added Php 70.00 to make it a meal which consisted of medium fries, a choice of your dip (I choose the Honey Mustard) then my choice of drink which is the Red Strawberry. I waited while my order was being cooked.

Slammin' mini burgers tasted really good to me. I actually love how juicy the burger patty is.
My favorite is the Bacon n' mushroom. I will definitely order this again when I come back.

Their fries is actually  big, long and crispy not the ones that you usually eat at fast food joints that is full of flour. This one is really, potatoes! I love the honey mustard dip! perfect with your fries!

I also tried their Slammin' Wings (New York Buffalo) Php 175.00 which consisted of 6 chicken wings with a choice of your dip. This one is a bit spicy so if you're not into spicy dishes then you might as well try their Honey Garlic Glaze.

The restaurant’s motto is, “Every bite is Slammin’,” and from their roster of bestsellers, it’s easy to see how their mini burgers live up to the hype. The All American Slider (P145, double/P215, triple) is the hands-down best-selling dish; its juicy beef patties are “onions steam grilled” to perfection then topped with melted cheese and placed on pillowy soft steamed buns. You can also keep things simple with the Slammin’ Cheese (P125, double/P185, triple), a delicious mini cheeseburger, and the ever-popular Bacon Mushroom Melt (P175, double/P255, triple). All three burgers contain patties made with 100% all beef chuck.Get all three on one plate with theSlammin’ Trio (P225), or tryThe Farm (P215), which gives you a Slammin’ Cheese beef miniburger, Beer-Battered GoFish!withSour Cream, and Crispy Chicks with Barbecue Sauce.

Want something more adventurous? Slammin’s Black Box Creations(P185, double/P265, triple) are limited-edition mini burgers made with extraordinary ingredients—and they’re only on the menu for six months. Here’s what’s currently available: the John Candy topped with salted caramel, sautéed onions, melted cheddar, and bacon; the Romeo and Juliet with bacon, melted cheese, strawberry jam, and salted butter; and The Big Kahuna with pineapple chunks, sriracha mayo, teriyaki glaze, melted cheddar, and bacon. And once you’ve eaten your fill of these, come back in a few months to try the new offerings!

But just in case the mini burgers aren’t enough to satisfy you, there are a number of dishes to pair with them as well. The most popular choice would be Slammin’s Loaded Fries (P125), which is a large serving of thick-cut fries covered with toppings. You can choose between the Mighty Mushroom Bacon, topped with sour cream and cheese sauce, crispy bacon, button mushrooms, fresh tomatoes, and sautéed onions; or the Beefy Supreme with ground chuck, roasted garlic and cheese sauce, fresh tomatoes, and sautéed onion strings for a meat lover’s overload.

Apart from these, there are what the restaurant calls Sidekicks—great add-ons or alternatives to their menu’s “heroes.” You can get their Slammin’ Wings (P175)tossed in either themildly hot and tangy Buffalo-style sauce or the sweeter Honey Glazed sauce and served with a dip of your choice. Another option would be the Beer-Battered Fish and Chips (P185), with soft and delectable fish coated in Slammin’s Signature Beer Batter, which spent a full year in development before the dish made it to the menu, and deep fried to a crispy, perfect golden brown. This is paired with thick-cut and crispy fries and a large-sized dip of your choice.

While the dishes are of course best eaten when served, these can also be taken out in movie-friendly boxes and cones so that you can enjoy a hearty meal while taking in a fave flick, on the road, or at home.

The menu at Slammin’ Mini Burgers may be simple, but it’s filled with sure winners, the better to guarantee that every bite is indeed “slammin.’” Says Dy, “Nothing gives us more satisfaction than seeing our customers nod their heads in approval after every bite. We delight in surprising people [with] how delicious our food is. Our main aim is to provide a delicious and excitingly fun casual dining experience, where customers enjoy the food and each other’s company. The goal is for every customer to feel good about themselves and their day after a visit to Slammin.’”

That's me enjoying my Slammin' mini burgers and wings! Burp! :-)
