Milkcow opens first store in the Philippines at Eastwood City

Sunday, December 28, 2014

There's a new craze here in Eastwood City where soft organic ice cream is the best comfort foodthat you can ever think of, thankfully I was one of the lucky few who got invited to their soft opening.

Koreans have always been known for being trendsetters. For technology, they’ve brought us SAMSUNG and LG and for entertainment they have brought us KPOP (and yes, PSY'S GANGNAM STYLE is included). Now they’ve done it again, this time in the food industry, with Milk Cow, a premium organic dessert café that is opening its first store in the Philippines at Eastwood City.

The moment you enter Milkcow, you feel a relaxing ambiance inside. I super love the ambiance, a theme of modern design with black and white as their main color. Simple yet elegant. You will surely enjoy what they can offer with this best ambiance like this one.

People with a sweet tooth now have a healthy dessert option to enjoy as Milk Cow dishes up organic soft serve ice cream as its star. Coupled with a unique twist of serving it with natural honey comb, it has taken Korea by storm. Though it launched only in late 2013, Milk Cow now has over 50 branches in South Korea and is open in Japan, Malaysia, and now in the Philippines.

For those who just want to savor the flavor of organic ice cream, they can try the Milky Way, made from organic milk, the Milky Honey, which comes with 100% natural honey from honey farms in Tasmania and Sydney,or the Milky Cube, which comes with natural honeycomb.

“We loved the taste of the ice cream when we first had it while on vacation in Korea. We know Filipinos love their sweets, but the awesome thing about this is that it isn't so sweet that you would get tired of it even after a whole cup,” shared Seann Tan, President of Milk Cow Philippines

For a Christmassy treat, guests can also order the Green Light, which comes with mint syrup and almond crumble. Chocolate lovers also won’t be left out with Milk Cow’s delicious Cookies& Cream or the Golden Angel with white chocolate syrup and white chocolate chips. Another great treat is the Macao Dream, topped with a sweet macaron and almond crumble.

Check out some of Milkcow's delectable treats:

Macao Dream Php 170.00

Cookies & Cream Php 150.00

Milky Pearl Php 150.00

Milky Cube Php 170.00

Milky Honey Php 150.00

Snowdrop Php 150.00

Of all the soft organic ice cream in their menu that were served to us, I especially loved the Cookies & Cream because it's not too sweet, just the right amount of sweetness so that you will enjoy the fine texture of the ice cream.

Koreans also love their coffee, and Milk Cow serves nothing but the best Italian coffee beans that is sure to satisfy your caffeine fix.Guests can enjoy their espresso, mocha, latte and mocha with organic milk and natural honey. Milk Cow also serves hot chocolate, perfect for the chilly Yuletide season. We tried their hot Choco and I love it! It tasted like your favorite homegrown hot choco that your grandma or mom would prepare for you.

Other delicious menu items to try are their macarons and croissants, which guests can get with a variety of spreads like apple cinnamon cream cheese and parmesan basil chicken.

Another favorite of mine is their Parmesan Basil Chicken! I really recommend this one, it tasted really fresh, you can really taste the basil plus the bread is soft, you'll know that it is freshly baked not just heated.

As a treat for its grand opening, Milk Cow offered one free ice cream for the first 200 customers to line up last Dec. 20, starting 2PM and it was indeed a success!

Milk Cow is open from 10am – 12mn and is located at the Ground Floor of Eastwood Mall, across California Pizza Kitchen and Mr. Kurosawa.
