ABS-CBN’s newest drama series “Flordeliza” will remind viewers of the crucial role of the family in molding the hearts and minds of children beginning January 19 (Monday).

Flordeliza held an exclusive media screening and I am glad to be part of the lucky few who watched their first week. I am also a big fan of Marvin Agustin and Jolina Magdangal. I always watch their projects before whether it may be a movie or tv shows like "Gimik" where Marvin plays Joey and Jolina plays the role of SC. My ultimate favorite movie of Marvin and Jolina is "Labs Kita, Okay Ka Lang" where they played as Bujoy and Ned. For me, it's one of the best feel good romantic movies that I'll never forget from Star Cinema.

Now, For sure #MarJo fans like me would be excited for their upcoming teleserye that will start next week via Kapamilya Gold. Watching them together really brings back nice memories of their love team and I can say they still have that "magic" in their love team and most of the people who were present during the screening at Dolphy Theater felt it too. They will surely bring "kilig" moments via Flordeliza.

Flordeliza features highly anticipated return of the ’90s iconic Kapamilya love team of Jolina Magdangal and Marvin Agustin, “Flordeliza” is based on the names of the lead characters, Florida (Jolina) and her daughter Flor (Ashley Sarmiento), and Elizabeth (Desiree del Valle) and her child Liza (Rhed Bustamante). Marvin plays "Crisanto" a soldier that is based in Abra. All of them showed how amazing actors they are and I am at awe with Marvin's portrayal of a soldier who is undergoing a stress disorder most soldiers experience after experiencing a trauma battling for the country. I can't help but cry with Desiree's character as well after of the struggles she's going through and Jolina plays that perfect Mother role that is really enriching. The two kids who will play the role of Flor and Liza are also good in acting, a must watch.

Show director Wenn de Ramas said the remade “Flordeliza” has a different story from the 1981 television series which starred Janice de Belen and the late Julie Vega.

“It’s a different story, nagamit lang talaga namin ‘yong title. Kasi hindi sila magkapatid doon, e, magkaibigan lang sila Janice [de Belen] tsaka Julie Vega,” he explained during the presscon after the screening.

“So ito [binago] namin para tumama doon sa unang timeslot na panghapon, na magkapatid na ang makikita is ‘yong sobrang pagmamahalan ng magkapatid. ‘Yong outside force ang naghihiwalay para sa kanila.”

The kids who played Flor and Liza are Ashley Sarmiento and Rhed Bustamante. Direk Wenn said he’s more focused with the kids in this project since he has no problem with the other cast, who have already proven their acting skills over the years.

The director said that the kids did not disappoint especially with how easily they pulled off dramatic scenes.
“Flordeliza’ is one project that you cannot turn down because of its beautuful story, great director and talented cast,” said Marvin. “The viewers will see a new Marvin and Jolina tandem, who like our characters in the series, are also parents who always put their children’s welfare first above all else.”

“Unlike before, our romantic moments now have depth. Because in ‘Flordeliza,’ the stars are not just me, Marvin, Desiree and the kids, but also, more importantly, our story itself and the concept of family,” said Jolina.

Completing the “Flordeliza” cast are Carlo Aquino, Elizabeth Oropesa, Tetchie Agbayani and Juan Rodrigo. It is also under the direction of Tots Sanchez-Mariscal IV.
