Panagbenga Festival 2015: Blossoming together for 20 years

Expect the country's summer capital - Baguio City, to bloom this year with the 20th anniversary of Panagbenga! Panagbenga — or the Baguio Flower Festival — will feature more blooms and color.

 "Across 20 Years, Blossoming Together" respresented by a flower with six petals as its logo, Architect Joseph Alabanza, one of the Board of Trustees of the Baguio Flower Festival Foundation, Inc. explained this year's celebration signifies the inter-connection and unity of the BLISTT towards development.

The festival, which sets tone for tourism for the whole year generating significant revenues for the Summer Capital, now aims also to market the contributions BLISTT may offer.

The Panagbenga 2015 will officially commence February 1 and will last until March 8 highlighting the various traditional events of the flower festival which promotes balanced tourism, fair market and most importantly, community involvement and enjoyment.

Panagbenga Activities:
The festival will start with an opening ceremony simultaneous with the Street Dancing Parade Competition at the Panagbenga Park down to Session Road and will pass to Harrison Road going to the Melvin Jones on February 1. An opening concert will also be held which venue is yet to be announced.

The Baguio Blooms Exhibition and Exposition will be at Lake Drive, Burnham Park from February 1 to March 8.

On February 15, the "Handog ng Panagbenga sa Pamilya Baguio" will host various activities such as "Let a Thousand Flowers Bloom", the Panagbenga 2015 Kite-Flying Challenge, Panagbenga Variety Show and a fireworks display at the Melvin Jones.

The Chinese Spring Festival will also be celebrated in the Summer Capital on February 19.

The Philippine Military Academy Grand Alumni Homecoming at the PMA, Loakan Road will be given way on February 20 to 22.

The Floral Arrangement Competition and School-based Lanscaping Competition which symbolizes the skills and cooperation of students will be from February 23 to 27.

The highlights, the Grand Street Dancing Parade and the Grand Float Parade will be showcased in the major roads of the Central Business District on February 28 and March 1 correspondingly coinciding with the Sponsors' and Exhibitors' Day at Athletic Bowl.

Local products from the different areas in the country will also be up for sale during the Session Road in Bloom at Session Road March 1 to 8.

The Pony Boys' Day which venue is yet to be announced will be held March 7 and a closing ceremony to be followed by a grand fireworks display will be on March 8.
