ULTIMATE Concert: Martin, Regine, Gary and Lani on February 13-14 at SM Mall of Asia Arena

The Asia’s Songbird, Mr. Pure Energy, Asia’s Nightingale and the Concert King join forces on February 13 and 14 at the Mall of Asia Arena to serenade their fans and music enthusiasts to celebrate Valentine’s day.
Both Martin and Regine said that they are very excited about this concert because sharing the stage with other powerhouse performers is a memorable experience, not only that, they are all good friends which made it more easier for them to collaborate more about the concert.
For a two day concert, this is their perfect gift to everyone who missed seeing their idols on stage. A Valentines Day treat indeed for those who are still looking for that perfect date for their love ones. What can be more romantic that hear these amazing performers serenade you on Valentines Day?
Regine Velasquez Alcasid mentioned that she loves working with Martin because he is a funny person and you will never run out of things to talk about, almost anything under the sun. Martin even revealed that he used to have a crush on Regine before. Regine made it clear that even before, she doesn't see "upcoming new artists" to be a threat to her career, in fact, she even want to share some tips on how to stay longer in the business. Given the chance, she would love to collaborate with them too.
Regine is also aware about the comparison between her and Lani Misalucha and she said, even though they almost have the same songs that they can sing, they are still two different performers.
With each having her own strengths and following, Regine said, “Hindi ako na-i-insecure kasi God gave me this talent, and ito ’yung para sa’kin, and (iba) naman binigay kay Lani… Kasi we are all created differently, but we are all given wonderful gifts to share with other people.”
For their upcoming concert, Regine said, “Hopefully lahat (ng kanya kanyang followers namin) pumunta (at pati ang mga) concertgoers lang talaga, (‘yung) hindi naman sila fan ng particular artist.”
When asked if she will be doing a teleserye or movie soon, she answered, "Why not? given the right project I will definitely love to go back." Teased if she wanted to work with much younger artists and be paired with them, she answered, "Ano title? Love ko si Tyang?". We all laughed in the table. We all missed Regine doing movies and Teleseryes, hopefully we can see more of her on the big screen.
Martin admitted that even though he's been in the business for quite some time now, he still feels the need to please his audience 100% because he knows they expect a lot from him. The country's prime balladeer always gives his best in every concert or show he performs and in the ULTIMATE concert, you can expect nothing less.
Martin added that he feels “intimidated” performing alongside established singers he admires, including Regine Velasquez, Lani Misalucha and Gary Valenciano, his co-performers in the upcoming ULTIMATE concert.
“To sing with the likes of Lani and Regine, (I) really need to level up to reach their performance level, their range, to the vocal calisthenics that they do,” he said. “When the two of them guested in one of my shows, they received a standing ovation, and I don’t…”
Martin said, “I won’t try to sound like Lani and Regine but I have to be at par with them, otherwise I don’t make our (duets) sound good.”
Martin sees “ULTIMATE” as a show where they are “equal” on stage. “We won’t compete with (each other),” he said. “Ang gagawin namin sana ay most of the songs ay may vocal harmony. Maraming elements around us, may vocal coaches, may musical director, that will hopefully make this a show really worth watching.”
