Reo Brothers of Tacloban Launches Debut Album Under Star Music

Wednesday, March 04, 2015

After the storm, there's always a rainbow and this is exactly what happened with the Reo Brothers. The REO Brothers, which consists of Reno, Ralph, Raymart and RJ from the Otic family who came from a bad experience of Yolanda typhoon in Tacloban proved that they emerged from the darkest times of their life. It was one of those devastation that they will never forget because it both gave them a bad & happy ending.

The Reo Brothers launch their first ever album at Cowboy Grill and when I heard them play live, I said to myself, this is really nice! They really sounded like The Beatles!
It's like hearing The Beatles playing their original songs and they also played songs from the best OPM hitmakers like VST & Company.

The Reo Brothers admitted how hard it is for them to cope up after Yolanda hit their town. They were forced to go here in Manila to find a more suitable job to earn money.
Through different contacts and friends who knew they really have an amazing talent, they met businessman Tom Banguis who took the boys under his wing and has been guiding them through various gigs in Metro Manila. The band has been working since.

Their fame has reached overseas. They’ve performed most notably at the world-famous Madison Square Garden in New York City, showing off their talents along with established stars like apl.de.ap of Black-Eyed Peas, Jessica Sanchez, and Charice.

Locally, they’ve hit the Araneta Coliseum where they performed with Lea Salonga, Sarah Geronimo, and Martin Nievera. Currently they do selective commitments at bars and restaurants, but mostly private functions. They’ve also been guests on several television shows.

Even they The Reo Brothers are known for singing The Beatles songs and other revivals, they have an original track on their album so that they can also showcase their own identity.
Their musical influences includes Rivermaya, Eraserheads and Cueshe.

Their album, Reo Brothers of Tacloban includes four revivals (VST & Company’s “Awitin Mo, Isasayaw Ko,” Hotdog’s “Manila,” Juan dela Cruz’s “Titser’s Enemy Number One” and Orange & Lemons’ “Pinoy Ako”) and two original songs composed by hitmaker Vehnee Saturno, is simply the start of their journey.
