We all know that "hugot" movies are the latest trends in the local romance genre nowadays and it's always a blockbuster when this movies are released, with You're Still the One,moviegoers can expect a deeper "hugot" than ever and a lot of people can also relate with this movie.
Award winning actor Dennis Trillo said that working both with Kapamilya stars Maja Salvador and Richard Yap is a big blessing for him.
He added that when The Janitor was released by Star Cinema, he thought it was his last project with them but when You're Still the One came along, he can't help but feel really excited about the said project. Maja Salvador is one of the actress on his list that he really wants to worked with and now that it happened, he shares how his experience with Maja made him even more an actor than before. As for Richard, he added that he learned a lot from him while they were shooting the movie. He said that Richard is very professional and knows his craft passionately.
Dennis plays the role of Jojo, Maja's high school sweetheart who he met again after many years and tries to rekindle their past. “I like giving everything to a role if it will contribute something meaningful to the movie. I know I work better when I trust the director and when I know I can define the role even beyond what the script will call for. Being thoroughly involved with your role is the only way anything can work in any project.”
Career-wise, Dennis couldn’t ask for more. He is busy promoting “You’re Still the One” and he is also gearing up for another movie “Sugo.” Dennis, who just celebrated his birthday on May 12, is likely to go back onscreen with a teleserye mid-2015.
“Sa totoo lang, kalabisan na siguro sa akin ang humiling pa kasi sobra-sobra na din ang natatanggap ko. Napakadaming blessings ang dumadating araw-araw. Siguro ang hiling ko na lang ay good health para magawa ko ang mga trabaho na dumadating,” he said.
Richard Yap rose to fame when he portrayed the role Ser Chief in the top rated teleserye "Please Be Careful with my Heart"opposite Jodi Sta.Maria. Although according to him, he can't help it if others still call him as Ser Chief, he knows the people have grown to love him for his role and he really appreciate it. This is why he always wants to give his best with every project that he gets.
For this movie, this is completely different from his Ser Chief role. He will play the role of an elder man (Vincent) who will love and take care of Maja. A May-December affair. He gives credit to Maja for being a professional actress because he knows that there will be scenes that they will be really close and he made it a point that Maja will not be uncomfortable with him. “Kasama naman siya sa script talaga and it was tastefully done, so I didn’t have any hesitation doing it. I trust my director. Hindi naman siya mahirap gawin,” Richard said.
The happily-married actor admitted he didn’t ask permission from his wife when he did an intimate scene with Maja. His wife Melody understands his job as an actor.
Richard and Maja worked previously as father and daughter on “My Binondo Girl.” The actor shared how they made the adjustment.
“It was a case of trying to get used to the idea na we’re doing something different in this movie, kasi dati father-daughter relationship, now we have a relationship. So, it’s a very big jump,” he said.
When asked if they believe in giving love a second chance, in Richard's case since he is happily married he said given the situation right now that he finally finds the one, it's not possible anymore since he has found the one. As for Dennis, Relating to what’s happening in his life now, Dennis said it is possible for him to reconcile with an old flame and rebuild their relationship, but it still depends on the current situation and what they went through before.
Dennis also believes love could be lovelier the second time around. There were also some celebrity couples who broke up before and are now in each other’s arms again.
Truly,You're Still the One is one movie you shouldn't want to miss. Maja Salavador,Richard Yap and Dennis Trillo is one movie worth watching for plus a plot that will surely make you feel falling in love is worth a second chance.
