Monday, August 03, 2015

It was not my first time to meet Chef Boy Logro, I've met him before when he celebrated his birthday at his very own Culinary School at Cavite and I was thankful that I was given the chance to interview him in person and twice now at via his show with Ms. Betina Carlos
"Idol sa Kusina".

Whether an aspiring chef or simply a food lover, viewers have another reason to be glued on television as GMA News TV whips up a season of mouthwatering dishes sprinkled with practical cooking tips and special techniques in IDOL SA KUSINA.

Together with the country's in-demand celebrities, the new cooking show will also unfold topnotch kitchen skills and culinary secrets that will make cooking dishes effortless.

Idol sa Kusina is also co-hosted with Celebrity/Host and a Mom as well Ms. Betina Carlos.

Through this show via GMA News TV, people of all ages can now learn easy ways on how to cook our favorite homegrown dishes and whip up new dishes that are not only delicious but also budget friendly and easy to prepare. Now, newbies when it comes to cooking will have a better chance to be the King or Queen of the Kitchen when it comes to cooking, thanks to Chef's Boy's superb mastery in cooking with the help of Betina.

During our set visit, the episode tackled "Pinggang Pinoy" which is very important for every household. Idol sa Kusina invited Ms. Marilou Enteria of National Nutrition Council to explain what "Pinggang Pinoy" is all about.

Pinggang Pinoy, literally translated as Filipino Plate, is a visual representation of what a person should consume on a per meal basis. It is a plate-based food guide that features the right proportion of food that contains the right nutrients needed by the body of an average Filipino.

According to surveys, the prevalence of obesity increased among Filipino adults in 2013 with 3 in every 10 people considered obese. Seen as a health risk, an abnormal accumulation of fat mainly due to the wrong type of food intake leads to obesity.

The most important message that Pinggang Pinoy wants to give to Filipinos is that they need to take the right proportions, this is why Idol sa Kusina shared how everyone can preapre their meal in a healthy portions.

On the next episode, I was also privileged to witness one of my favorite love teams of all time! Bobby Andrews and Angelu De Leon, they were part of the hit tv series T.G.I.S as Peachy and Wacks. Up until now, even if they both have wonderful families of their own, they still look good together and have that kilig factor in them.

Both are part of the newest afternoon serye via GMA Telebabad "Buena Familia" after The Half Sisters. Bobby Andrews plays the role of Arthur Bunea and Angelu De Leon plays his loving wife Bettina Buena. They have 3 daughters which includes Kylie Padilla, Julie Ann San Jose and Mona Louise Rey and 1 son Julian Trono. They came from a "Buena" familia not until they experienced a big financial problems which will give them a lot of struggles in life.

During their visit at Idol sa Kusina, Chef Boy and Bettina prepared Batangueno dishes:
Sinaing na Tulingan

Adobong Manok sa Puti

For dessert, Bettina prepared Mango Tiramisu

All the dishes were really delicious and I super love them all, in fact I am planning to cook it at home so that my family can also enjoy the healthy and delicious foods that were prepared by Chef Boy and Betina. With all of Chef Boy's accomplishments, he told us that he couldn't ask for more. Aside from his culinary school at Cavite, he also have a Culinary University at Davao and a resort as well. Betina on the other hand, joggling being a Mom and a celebrity and host, she also ventures on baking and selling it as well.
