The Mike Bon Gang Launches Debut album and Umaasa Pa Rin Ako Music Video

GMA Records is proud to announce the release of The Mike Bon Gang's self-titled album, a collection often original pop rock songs about love and relationships that everyone, young and old, male and female, can identify with.
The Mike Bon Gang is a three-piece band led by Mike Bon, guitarist and lead vocalist. Mike is joined by Jonathan Catacutan on bass and vocals and Cholo Escano on drums and vocals.
Mike, Jonathan and Cholo, long-time friends and former bandmates, joined together in 2012 to do a one-time show as the front act for the Hotdog band. The trio had so much fun at the event and won rave reviews from the crowd that they decided to stick together and see where their musical journey would take them. And so, The Mike Bon Gang was born.
Since then, they've been rocking venues all over Metro Manila including Craft Rock & Grill, Cable Car in Bonifacio Global City, Makati and Tomas Morato, Skinny Mike's and Speakeasy, just to name a few. They've also been featured performers at the Icons of Pinoy Rock concert last June 6 at the Ynares Sports Arena and The New Year's Countdown at the Philippine Arena. All this, while working on a collection of original songs for their first album.
They also launched their latest music video for Umaasa Pa Rin Ako which will be used as the theme song of REPLY 1997, the hit Korean drama that started airing on the Kapuso network last August 3.
This song will definitely touch the hearts of romantics all over the country. It's a song about a person's faith that someday, true love will come along.
During the Music Video and album launched, The Mike Bon Gang performed in front of the Media some of the songs from their all original album and I was really impressed. They really sound good plus the songs are all well written. Mike, who is the lead singer told us during the interview that he has been writing the songs for years now and mostly, he writes songs based on experience.
The band said they're very thankful to GMA Records because they were able to use their original songs, Mike mentioned that he believes in banking on artist's potential and passion for singing is really needed right now so that the OPM industry will grow more. We all know Cholo Escano since he used to be part of the showbiz industry and he said, ever since he was really into music, he has a lot of friends and family members who are past of the music industry and he can truly say that this is where he belongs.
They feel flattered as well that GMA Network used their song for the newest Korean Drama "Reply 1997". The song is "Umaasa Pa Rin Ako". Check out the music video below:
