Novotel Manila Araneta Center: Discover Manila's Newest Luxury Hotel

Tuesday, December 29, 2015

Holidays are meant to be spent with your loved ones in a remarkable way and I'm just glad I spent the Holiday season with the best people in the world and the best place as well, at Novotel Manila, Araneta Center.

Novotel Manila is a four star hotel that offers 401 stylish rooms and suites. Check out my amazing view. Of course the view is for free but this is one of the things I look forward to whenever I get the chance to stay in hotels, Novotel Manila gives you the luxury of waking up to a selfie-worthy view, Instagram-worthy too.

Novotel has a Pool and Lounge Bar, Premier Lounge, outdoor Bridal Garden, pillarless Grand Ballroom and 7 spacious meeting rooms. Most of the events I know are now being held at Novotel Manila since they offer a convenient and excellent venue for product launch
and more. Plus, unlimited high speed WIFI! what more can you ask for?

I super love our room. I love the elegant and modern design of the room. The comfy bed is very inviting as well as the bathroom which offers high end amenities. Every time I checked in at any hotel, I always check out the bathroom first and honestly speaking, Novotel Manila offers one of the best bathrooms I've seen so far because it's spacious and you've got everything you need minus the bath tub of course.

The bathroom had a rain shower head and an automatic curtain that made us imagine that this would be a perfect setting for Fifty Shades of Grey Movie but for those who will check in with their kids, I'm sure this will be their object of affection since they will push the button every now and then for sure.  The toilet was separate from the bath area and equipped with a bidet, coolness!

Check out my video tour below:

This is our midnight snack from the Gourmet Bar delivered to our room since we are celebrating our Checkered Christmas Party that night!

There were 10-11 people inside the room that night and we fit inside the room perfectly. Me and my Blogger friends truly enjoyed our bonding moment while playing games and more photo ops sessions!

We had a buffet breakfast at Food Exchange. The buffet area was spacious and not cramped. Complimentary Buffet Breakfast awaits you if you'll be staying overnight and so on. For the price of P785 for a buffet breakfast, you definitely get more than what you pay for. There are ample food choices. Food taste and quality is also wonderful. I love the food!

Happy tummy indeed at Food Exchange!

To further enjoy our staycation, we took a swim in the pool, which has a good size and great landscaping.  There's a kiddie and adult pool, since I don't know hot to swim, I stayed at the kiddie pool.

Overall, the experience was really pleasant. I recommend this place for those who wants to experience solitude after the hustle and bustle in the city. Location was great! The hotel is right in the middle of SM Department Store, Smart Araneta Coliseum, Ali Mall, Gateway Mall, and Shopwise Supermarket. You have many restaurant and shopping options, all walking distance from the hotel. The service staff were all very courteous and accommodating.

Thank you so much Novotel Manila!

  1. Safety concerns –

It seems this hotel is more concerned with their profit margins than the safety of their guests. The staff is not well trained and wait for management to help them make decisions regarding guests issues. We had 6 guests staying at the hotel in 6 rooms, 3 rooms coordinate by me personally. Our of total of six rooms, the following concerns were raised to management:

    1) Lax security procedures when entering hotel. Really a façade as they are not fully checking bags and cars as they should, more interested in other distractions available.
    2) Failing to answer the phone calls to the operator and/or front desk – If an emergency, they would never know. This happened daily and causes great concern for my guests.
    3) Seems like a lot of unpaid interns working in key positions of the hotel. While I love to see training, not at the expense of the guests’ experience and all interns really know how to say when there are issues are “I’m sorry” and then smile and/or set up a meeting with a mid-level manager, who then is not interested in helping if they feel they will have to give you something in consideration of bad experience.
    4) Management that hide behind the “policy” to prevent making concessions when things don’t go right during a guests stay including:
    a. Circuit breaker problem which caused guests power to not come on due to improper wiring it seems
    b. Offers no concession when bookings are incorrect (dates, 3rd party adverse impact saying “you should have book with us directly as since you booked with 3rd party there is nothing we can do” even though it may or may not be your fault
    c. Cold water in the shower that engineering doesn’t understand how to fix and having to get a more senior person (unpaid interns)
    d. Valet procedures having interns drive your car that don’t even own their own car.
    e. Room service food that looks like it has been left out/prepared in advance from their limited menu if you order at night past 12am.

What we were told was we are sorry on each situation. Sorry isn’t good enough when it comes to the safety and security of guests at your property. I’m happy to say our groups will not be staying at the Novotel Manila Araneta Center and not holding any events there for the safety of our clients.

Room Tip: Lots of inexperienced interns learning at this property so they can keep costs down it seems.
