Aicelle Santos Releases her Self-Produced Album Liwanag

Aicelle Santos has definitely come a long way after Pinoy Pop Superstar. According to Aicelle, joining different singing contest ever since she knew she have this passion in singing gave her the courage to go on even though she knew it will be a long and hard journey. Right now, she added, she continuously updates herself with the latest trends and musical genre so that her supporters will see see a different side of her every time she performs especially now that there are a lot of budding singers who also won in different singing competitions and aspires to be famous in showbiz industry as well.
This year, Aicelle is welcoming 2016 with the release of her latest album "LIWANAG" which is self-produced and in-partnership with Homeworkz Records which is a label owned by a good friend of Aicelle as well, JayR. According to Aicelle, Liwanag encourages people to do the right thing. It’s timely, because it aims to spread hope, love and light. She also wrote the songs and some of the tracks in her album. When I heard the song after Aicelle performed, I actually think it's also a perfect song for this coming Election.
The EP features six tracks that her fans can already download online. The songs were all about Light, Hope and Love. Songs that are included in the album are "Kapangyarihan ng Pag-Ibig" by Jungee Marcelo, "Palaging Ikaw" by Simon Peter Tan, "Be With You" by Arlene Calvo, "Imma Be By Your Side" by Gian Magdangal and Tuloy-Tuloy Lang" by Kiko Salazar.
When asked why she produced her album, Aicelle said that it's the perfect time which is also a big leap to her career, she added, she's not getting any younger and she wanted people to know that she is very much around and creating her own music. With the help of her friends who are also passionate in their craft of singing like JayR, Jet Pangan of The Dawn and Glaiza de Castro, she finally got the chance to produce her much awaited album and she was very hands on in the turn out of the album, she even does the packaging part.

Aicelle also become very active with theater plays in fact she started in 2012 when she became part of the original Filipino musical "Katy!" and her impressive role as Aileen in Rak of Aegis which is set to rerun this coming May. She said she misses doing plays and will be back soon. Her advice to the young hopefuls who are also brave enough to join singing contests and fighting to achieve their dreams is to never lose hope because like them, it was never easy in the beginning based on her experience which is why she treasures the opportunities coming her way.
Aside from singing and doing plays, you can also catch Aicelle in several Kapuso tv shows like Buena Familia where she portrays a kontrabida role. She said her role in very liberating since she get to maltreat Julie Anne San Jose most of the time.
Aicelle shared that all the tracks in her album were her favorite because each one is special, from the lyrics and melodies to instrumentation and mixing, each song was written with a heart and purpose. When she heard the final out put, all she can say was, "I'm really proud of this album."
