Casio Launches First Smart Watch Powered by Android Wear

Thursday, January 07, 2016

I'm a big fan of Casio and this year, Casio has unveiled a new Android Wear product at CES 2016 called the WSD-F10 Smart Outdoor watch. The watch has a unique and cool design that is safe to water depths of 50 meters and built to military standards. The F10 is water resistant in rain and water use scenarios. The watch has Casio apps for outdoor activities like trekking, cycling, and fishing.

The apps are designed to measure changes in the natural environment and to track your activity level. Users can load their own apps to expand the feature set for the watch for specific outdoor activities. The face of the watch is a dual layer display with monochrome and color LCDs.

The watch is built to MIL-STD-810 and has several integrated sensors. This sensors can monitor things like compass direction, air-pressure, altitude, sunrise and sunset times, tide graphs, and activity graphs. The watch can also link to Casio Moment Setter+ app on your smartphone with timing and opportunities for activities. Apps include ViewRanger GPS, Runkeeper, and myRadar weather.
