Island Cove Hotel & Leisure Park: Your Summer Destination Minutes Away from Manila

Thursday, March 10, 2016

With the heat of the Summer, now is the perfect time to unwind and rejuvenate ourselves. Thankfully, Island Cove Hotel and Leisure Park is just minutes away from Manila. You don't have to go that far just to have that one of a kind summer experience.

I am getting used to backpacking and traveling to the most practical way I can discover and every time I get the chance to have a trip on my own or with a companion, I always make it sure to write down my experience so that I can share it to people who also wants to discover our country more since we have so much to offer. Let me take you to Cavite where Island Cove and Leisure Park is located.

Island Cove Hotel and Leisure Park is beautifully designed and conceptualized, maximizing the space it occupies in Binakayan, Kawit, Cavite. It was my first time here but I've heard so many good experiences here in Island Cove and pleasant reviews as well. This is often the venue of some of the top soap operas and movies in the past.

Although I didn't know that it's really minutes away from Manila. From Ayala where we came from, we took the Edsa route straight to Pasay then Coastal to Cavitex which is by the way a big help to reduce the travel time.

We went straight to iCafe which is also located in the lobby of Island Cove for some refreshments. Having a sweet tooth myself, I truly enjoyed the specialty cakes they have like the red velvet cupcake, Oreo Cheesecake & Mocha Chocolate Mousse. They also offer the yummiest buns in town, I've tried the Sisig Bun and it's so good
I think I ate 2-3 buns in one sitting.

Then we're off to tour the rooms. Island Cove offers budget-friendly accommodations for everyone especially for big groups if you're planning to go with your family or friends.

Our first stop is the Family De Luxe Room. It is very spacious. Perfect for the whole family. It has flat screen TV, cabinet for your things, then in the bathroom, there's a bath tub too. When the rooms were renovated, it now has USB Charging ports which is just perfect especially if you forgot to bring your charger. Family De Luxe room occupants gets 30% off on kiddie meals. Rate here is Php 5,300 per night on weekdays and Php 6,000 per night on weekends.

Next is Island Cove Junior Suite. This is which offers the same amenities, this also has an adjacent room that can fit a total of 8 people. This room costs Php 8,000 - Php 9,000 depending if you're going to book on a weekday or weekend.

The Cabanas offer: Single Villa, Two-Units or Four Units. This is a perfect room for big gatherings especially if you're hosting a wedding or a debut and a reunion. There's also a mini pool near the area if you want to take a dip only a few steps from your room or villa.

They are also capable of hosting and catering events of up to 14, 000 people.

Now, if you feel the need to stretch those bones and work out after a long day of just relaxing and eating then head on to Island Cove's Fit Club which is complete with all the fitness gears you might need, they also have a fitness coach to attend to your needs.

Time to relax, revitalize and rejuvenate. Island Spa is one of the first spas to adopt and promote authentic Filipino therapeutic treatments that combine healing and relaxation techniques such as hilot and dagdagay. Their staff will really pamper you to the core. I really enjoyed the Swedish massage. This you don't want to miss.

We also got the chance to mingle with different animals at the Island Cove Wildlife Sanctuary which is the home of different reptiles, mammals and birds. I experienced feeding the baby lion and ostrich which is something new to me. This is the first time I got the courage to do so because I know the staff were trained and will take care of us especially the animals.

My experience at Island Cove Wildlife Sanctuary

If you want more adventure, you can also visit the Island Cove Maze Challenge and try other outdoor activities like basketball court, tennis court, jogging path (1.4 km) and the
 giant chess set.

Feel the need to sing your hearts out? then head on to Island Cove's Bayside KTV which is feet for big groups as well. They also have in-house drinks and food if you want to have a food trip or drinking party while your singing with your friends. The songs are up to date  with Chinese, Korean and Japanese Songs.

One of the highlights so far of my trip at Island Cove & Leisure Park is their Oceania Swim & Splash Park. It has 350 square meter kid friendly splash park to Oceania. The equipment used especially the splashers were all imported from Australia. It has 4 giant slides and inflatables and there are lifeguards around to assist everyone while enjoying this area. Just by looking at it, I can't help splash around in this area.

This is just part 1 of my experience at Island Cove Hotel & Leisure Park. Part 2 includes another highlight of my trip which includes Foodie Experience at Fishing Village and at Sangley Point.
