I may not know a lot when it comes to the Fashion industry but I also take time to check out what's the laest happening especially in the fashion industry of our country. Thanks to Ms. Lilia Digna Rosales whom I met two weeks ago in an intimate talk, I was enlightened with
the oldest existing organization of fashion designers in the country which is the The FDAP (Fashion Designers Association of the Philippines). It's been active for 35 years!
Top fashion designers who have made name for themselves came from this organization. Rajo Laurel, Frederick Peralta, Albert Andrada and Renee Salud, are just some of designers who were original members of this organization.

Headed by a lady president, Ms. Digna Rosales, this organization plans to elevate Philippine fashion to a greater heights. She's been President of FDAP for the 4th time and was the chairman of the organization for three times. Being a fashion designer, she made name for herself in the corporate wear and uniform industry. Being a corporate uniform supplier for some top private and government corporations for the past 3 ½ decades, she has been respected as the “Uniform Queen”. Because of her impressive credentials, not only in designing, but also excellent and impeccable execution and manufacturing of her designs, she was given the privilege to conceptualize, design and manufacture the uniforms of the APEC Ministerial Meetings which will culminate in November, 2015.

Check out a short talk of Ms. Lilia Digna Rosales

Last May 20, Fashion Designers of the Philippines (FDAP), in partnership with the Filipino Heritage Festival, Inc. (FHFI) and SM Megamall, Metamorphosis featured a variety of pieces made by Filipino designers, from the usual ternos (butterfly sleeved dresses) to street wear with a Filipino twist. Thirty designers worked on the fashion show, while 20 participated the exhibit which was on view last May 22.

Fashion Designers of the Philippines will participate in the coming 2016 Environmental Summit: 2nd National Integrated Waste Management Exhibition.

Take note of the date and let's all support this worthy cause!

Ms. Digna was also an academician, she was chosen as one of the members of the Board of Regents of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), representing the private sector for four years and became the Technical Assistant to the president of PUP, Mr. Dante Guevarra. She co-conceptualized the 1st Gat Apolinario Mabini Awards in 2010 and was the editorial consultant of the book  Mabini and PUP –the Fusion of Two Impregnable Institutions in 2011. She writes in Pilipino, English and Spanish.

In this line, it was also an honor for me to meet the former President of Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) Mr. Dante Gueverra. I was an alumni of PUP STA. Mesa, I took up Bachelor in Mass Communications, Major in Journalism and I had a chance to see how he managed our University and how PUP has been a big stepping for all of us to achieve our dreams since the University is one of the TOP university in the country and also offers the lowest tuition up to 12 pesos per unit at out time!

Given this opportunity, I didn't pass up this chance of having a photo op with him. I also learned a lot from him. From K-12 system and how it will help the society specifically the future generation if only our country will be prepared and the government will support our education system specifically the teachers and what we needs like books and more.

He even pointed out the our educational system should abolish some of the subjects that are not really that important and should focus more on subjects like Math, Science, English, Filipino and Values Education. Given his many achievements, I know he has a lot to discuss and I hope he will have more talk about this topic in the future. He has also published books that talks about academics and more.
