Fe Del Mundo Medical Center launches newly upgraded hospital

Fe Del Mundo Medical Center (FDMMC), a pioneer in child health care in the Philippines, launched its newly renovated buildings and facilities to become a fully-upgraded private-general hospital catering to communities in Quezon City.

The launch held last February 17, 2017, marked the hospital’s full leap from being known as a child and maternal hospital to a holistic medical center offering medical services to patients of all ages, from pre-work to post-care.

Fe Del Mundo Medical Center was founded by Dr. Fe Del Mundo, a distinguished Filipino scientist and pediatrician who received various awards including the Elizabeth Blackwell Award as a “Woman Doctor of World Renown” and the 15th International Congress of Pediatrics Award as the Most Outstanding Pediatrician and Humanitarian
in 1977.

She was the first woman pediatrician to be admitted to the Harvard Medical School in 1936 and the first woman to be named National Scientist of the Philippines in 1980.

Dr. Fe Del Mundo established FDMMC in 1957, first as a Children’s Memorial Hospital which had a 107-bed capacity and a wide-array of services mainly for pediatric patients. In dedication to Fe Del Mundo’s heart for improving the health of every Filipino family, the hospital was also bestowed to a non-stock, non-profit institution named Dr. Fe Del Mundo Medical Center Foundation Phils., Inc. It later became known as the Children’s Medical Center Philippines with expanded health facilities and was renamed to Fe Del Mundo Medical Center in honor of Dr. Fe Del Mundo’s works and achievements.

Since the late 2013, after Fe Del Mundo Medical Center became a member of Mount Grace Hospitals, a dynamic and growing healthcare management group, FDMMC has grown into a bigger and better private-general hospital continuously upholding its legacy of excellence in providing its patients with a warm caring experience.

Under the new management of Mount Grace Hospitals, FDMMC has upgraded facilities in allergology-immunology, hemodialysis, physical rehabilitation, endoscopy, hematology-oncology, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, with various subspecialties in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, anesthesia and pain management, and comprehensive diagnostic services.

The Services:

Outpatient Clinic Services

It is the main department handling Hospital-Managed Outpatient Clinics, Private Physician Clinics, Health Management Organization, Industrial Medicine, and Executive and Wellness Center. It also manages the outpatient consultation services of the hospital providing medical procedures or tests for patients, which can be done in a few.

Pathology and Laboratory

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory of FDMMC is staffed with highly-trained and board certified pathologists to ensure and provide the patients with decisive and detailed diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic information, as well as bringing their expertise across sub-specialties in order to provide patients advanced and optimal treatment.

Radiology

FDMMC’s radiology services come in a variety of modern equipment and facilities aiming to provide accurate and less invasive diagnosis of medical problems among its patients.

Emergency Room

FDMMC’s newly renovated 7-bed emergency room is staffed by a hospital personnel and a pool of dedicated nurses who can immediately attend to our patients’ needs. It is ready to provide initial treatment to a broad range of illnesses and injuries, whether by accident, acute or sudden acquisition. The E.R. has 3 beds of primary care, 2 beds for critical and trauma, an isolation room and a treatment room.

Delivery Room

The Delivery Room offers a labor room, delivery, recovery, and postpartum rooms, where instead of moving the mother to several rooms, she can stay in the area to go through all the birthing process, leaving her calm, comfortable and cared for the way she deserves.

Operating Room

Fe Del Mundo Medical Center’s Operating Room surgeon and staff provide safe, individualized and competent surgical care from the time of consultation until recovery period. Our medical and nursing staff collaborate to provide our patients with safe, aseptic and technologically advanced surgeries.
