PicoWay: The Clear Solution for Pigmented Lesions

Wednesday, March 08, 2017

Because of modern technology and the advancement in Science, there are many ways to treat our skin. Moreover, all of us wants to look good, fresh and young and how to achieve this is much easier now compare before. Another skin care revolution has been made that will help most of us specifically for those who wants to erase their tattoos and other skin care problems.

PicoWay was launched last March 4 at Cafe Romulo. It was attended by the media and bloggers with celebrity guests.

Present during the Media Launch were the celebrity guests spearheaded by PicoWay's Ambassadress Ms. Vivian Velez together with Dr. Joan Clarence Morallo and Mr. Mike Mempin.

PicoWay® is an advanced laser treatment for tattoo removal, pigmentation, skin irregularities and signs of aging. The PicoWay aims to treat signs of ageing by stimulating the skin’s repair mechanism and encouraging collagen production. The Resolve’s two fractional wavelengths, 532 nm and 1064 nm, enables treatments of shallow and deep imperfections, treating skin texture, pigmentation, sun spots, fine lines and wrinkles.

It is a remarkably innovative 3 wavelength picosecond laser with both full beam and fractional capabilities from Syneron Candela, the most trusted name in aesthetic lasers.

PicoWay's unique mode of action is based on delivering ultra-short picosecond pulses of energy to the tissue. These bursts of energy create a photoacoustic impact which break up the target pigment into smaller, more easily eliminated particles.

Dr. Joan Clarence Morallo is one of the owners and Medical Director of Clarence Slimming and Dermatology Center. She graduated from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila. She had a post graduate internship with country's leading dermatologist and aesthetic medicine specialist in the Philippine Association of Primary Skin Health Physicians. The training arm of the Medical Skin Health Foundation.

Dr. Joan had her training in Aesthetic Dermatology in major aesthetic institutes both here in the Philippines and in nearby countries in Asia. She believes that beauty is attainable in all aspects and promotes a life of wellness to her patients through personalized treatments.

During the presentation, Dr. Joan Clarence Morallo showcased what PicoWay does:

When it comes to Tattoo removal, the PicoWay laser light is targeted at colors matching the specific laser wavelength in ultra-short picosecond pulses. These pulses shatter the tatto ino into very tiny particles, which are then easily eliminated by the body’s natural processes. The PicoWay laser emits less heat energy than traditional lasers providing a safer, more comfortable treatment for ALL skin types, with fewer side effects.

Mechanism of Action - Tattoo Removal
1. Before the procedure, a numbing agent is applied to the target area. (Note the tattoo ink prior to the PicoWay treatment)
2. During the treatment the PicoWay® handpiece delivers energy with an extremely precise, high-power laser in extremely short pulses to target ink particles with great impact.
3. These pulses shatter the tattoo ink into minuscule particles. Following the PicoWay treatment, most of the ink particles are removed by the body.

PicoWay treatments selectively treat the tattoo while leaving surrounding skin undamaged. Less heat is generated than traditional lasers which leads to a safer treatment with fewer side effects. After treatments, patients may experience temporary discoloration or reddening of the skin around the treatment site. Some patients may also experience a temporary lightening of the skin following treatment. The skin will typically resolve to a normal skin tone.

When it comes to Pigmented Lesions, laser light is targeted at unwanted pigment in ultrashort picosecond pulses. These pulses shatter the pigment into very tiny particles which are then easily eliminated by the body’s natural processes. The PicoWay laser emits less heat energy than traditional lasers providing a more comfortable treatment.

How many sessions does one need to get the best result?
The effectiveness of the treatment depends on many factors such as the location, depth, size and type of pigmentation. Some lesions will require several treatments for optimal results, where some can be resolved in a single treatment.

PicoWay Resolve breakthrough technology uses the shortest laser pulse available measured in picoseconds (trillionths of a second ). These pulses treat pigmentation, skin irregularities and the signs of aging.

The Difference from PicoWay Resolve:
Offers a unique treatment for the signs of aging and skin irregularities
Treats a range of pigmented lesions.
Results visible in just a few treatments.
Minimum to no downtime
